Why They Call Me Whisky Pete (and you will too.)
I never set out to be Whisky Pete. Not officially. Not in a pitch deck. And certainly not in the career plan they handed me in high school. Somewhere between running busted bar shifts, pouring midnight drams for mates and telling stories that somehow got funnier with every glass—I realised something. People don’t remember drinks.
They remember moments.
And so Whisky Pete was poured—one story, one sip, one eyebrow-raising, jaw-dropping, belly-laughing experience at a time.
From Shot Pourer to Showstopper
This didn’t start in a distillery. It started in a hundred odd venues across NSW, as a sales rep in south west Sydney. Selling Jim Beam and Coke cans by the pallet(s), plus a bottle here and there of The Macallan, Laphroaig & Highland Park, if I could talk them over the line.
I’ve behind the bar, inside brands, at events no one knew how to fix until I rocked up. Two decades in the liquor game gave me the nose, the nerve and the knack for reading any room. Then I mixed it with a storyteller’s soul and a sharp eye for great Whisk(e)y.
Turns out, the world didn’t need more whisky experts. It needed someone who could make whisky matter—to the couple getting married, the exec trying to impress, the team that earned something unforgettable.
What You Actually Get
When you book Whisky Pete, you’re not booking a tasting. You’re booking a firestarter. A connector. A moment-maker. You get someone who’s obsessed with pouring presence into every room. Who’s read the room before he even walks in. Who brings 20 years of industry grit, and filters it through charm, humour and damn good liquid.
This is spirit theatre. It’s event alchemy. It’s turning "just another function" into the night people talk about six months later—and it’s not because of the Whiskies.
And Why It Matters
Because in a world drowning in screens, noise, and forgettable nights out—connection wins. Real stories win. And you? You deserve more than just a tasting.
You deserve a whisky experience your guests won’t stop talking about.
